How Could I Forget - Mt Rainier!!

It's been a little while since I've posted. I had these photos already to go, but haven't had the time to sit down to write anything. So tonight I will take the time to do that.

These photos were taken at Poulsbo, Washington while on our vacation.
It's one of those "Let's see if we can get in the picture" photos. They are fun to do. Sometimes people ask if they can help by taking the picture.......and you let them.......but other times......it's just fun to run to get settled in the picture before the camera goes off.

Our vacation seems many years in the past now. I'm ready for another one.

I loved being with my kids, their spouses, & granddaughter. I had a wonderful time.

Vacations are never long enough!

It's always fun to go on vacation. Especially when part of your family is able to go with you. Which is what happened this year. Brandon, & Anjie, w/Alea, Tam-e & Bobby, & myself went to Seattle, Washington to visit my sister, Jean, and her husband, Joel.

It was a stretch for the both of them to have us all at one time. BJ, Anjie & Alea, the baby, had the guest room in the basement, Tam-e & Bobby had an air mattress in the family room, and I slept on the couch. It may not have been the greatest arrangement to some, but when you come together as a family, it doesn't matter where you sleep, as long as you're with family.

I took around 500 photos this trip. I picked out quite a few photos to post, but decided that I had to put a limit on them. Way too many to put on here. And most definitely!!!! they are out of order. It may not bother you, but it does me. I would prefer for you to see them in sequence as they had happened.

Four "new recipes" were packed in our suitcases that Jean had served while we were there. This is not an unusual experience. It's almost a given that we return home with at least one new recipe. The most popular one I've gotten from her is the "Lil Cheddar Meatloaf". That recipe was given to me the first time I visited Seattle with my sister, Ruth.

Jean & Joel have lived there eight years now. I've gone each year for a visit, ok....only 7 times of the 8 years. Six of those visits, I've taken someone "new" with me. (Ruth, Tam-e, Stacy, Aunt Martha & Uncle Jim, BJ & Anjie, and this year Alea & Bobby.) Jean keeps telling me if I want to see anything new that I have to stop bringing new people with me. So far, I haven't listened to that advise. Maybe next year.

This isn't quite the Seattle downtown skyline, (which happens to be to our right), but at least the Space Needle is in the picture.

Our first day in Seattle we stopped to see the Troll. He's a cutie isn't he?
Do we look like we're cold? Not sure how chilly it was, but the wind on that knoll was rather cold. Behind us is Mt. Saint Helen's. We could have walked to the windy hill, but we decided it was too far. I believe it was a two mile walk. Not so sure about that, but it looked that far away.
Jean & Joel took us to Discovery Park. Again, it was windy & chilly up on this hilltop. The view was wonderful! Pictured is: Joel, Jean, Anjie & Alea.

Jean is an avid sew-er....two years in a row I had sent fabric postcards back home. Anjie & Tam-e wanted to do that this time around. Here's our artistic work at hand. I can't believe the post office actually mail these things. Mine are on top, Anjie's are in the middle, Tam-e's are on the bottom.
Tam-e's high school friend lives not far from Seattle. Saturday morning (6:45 a.m.) Tam-e & I left to visit Amanda & her family. Her son Abe (4 yrs old) had a soccer game, 3 on 3. It's like T-ball, no one wins, it just gives them a little knowledge of the game. He was so cute chasing that ball.

Jean must have thought we were board, because she got out games for us to play. I believe BJ said we wanted to play Scrabble. Jean was amazed we stayed up until 2:30 in the morning playing Scrabble. We now have a new game to play when we get together. Not sure where my Scrabble board is.....hum! Have to think about that one.

Because Bobby had never been to Seattle some visits were repeated. The Mt. Saint Helen's trip was new for all of us.

We had a great time and a great time together. Jean & Joel....we'll never be able to say "thank you" enough for the time we were able to spend together and the time we had with you both. It was a great memory week. I hope that we didn't stress you out too much and that you had just as much fun as we did.

Not sure how this video will view on my blog page, but I guess if nothing else, you'll get the gist of what's on it. For those of you who might not know, Steve is singing the first song, "Just a Swingin'". (I think that's the name of it.)

Before I forget, a "huge" big Thank You to Leslie Bebout for the last minute song contribution that I desperately needed to finish the video. You're the greatest Leslie!!!! And then some.

Today Steve is celebrating his 60th birthday.

The kids had a surprise party for him this past Saturday. What a surprise that was.....NOT! He's always been a person who you think is not listening or not aware of some things, but in all actuality, he's "definitely" aware.

I occupied his time for the day of the party. We went to Stacy's to hang her hardware for her curtains, and then we went to dinner. Of course, he kept buggin' me, trying to figure out what time we had to be back. I did end up telling him. Sorry, B.J. & Tam-e. At least I had him there at the right time.

The video was to be Stacy's project, but being who I am, there are times I take over, and that's what I did with this video. In one of my previous post, I said I found how to make a movie on my computer. So cool. It was a reason to take over, and I wanted to do this for the kids. It also gave me the satisfaction that I could be involved with this surprise.

This time I couldn't figure out how to get the thing posted. Persistence is the key I guess. Because it finally worked.

I've added a few more photo's of that evening. Although there were only a few showed up, we had fun. Lots of cake & homemade ice cream. Yum! The kids did a good job!

Recently I was able to visit Tam-e & her family.

(I had purchased a picture frame with five slots.......I thought......YES! One for each grandchild how perfect.)

So while I was there, I took pictures of the kids. It's great having a digital camera. I can take as many as the card will hold and discard the ones I don't like. But I still love my "film/negative" SLR camera. I've learned several different things recently with the digital though, which helps. Eventually this new camera will grow on me.

I've even learned something new about my computer.....I can make movies!

I'm trying to get my very first movie to download.......doesn't seem to be working for me. I will keep trying though. So watch for the post.

Alas.....the video finally downloaded. I guess it just needed time.

Now remember as you watch this that I used only what I had available to me music wise. So the songs don't really go with the pictures.

Hey....what do you expect for my first try and trying to figure out how to work this new thing I have found. Later I will do one for the boys, so watch for that post. Hopefully, I can remember what I did. Ha!

I've SEEN it ALL!!!!

On my way home from church today, I noticed this person walking in their front yard. I couldn't believe what I was about to see next........Oh MY!

I thought they were "mooning" a neighbor, but NOPE.....they were getting prepared to go to the bathroom in their yard. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

It apparently wasn't their first time doing this....the way they were positioned, indicated they had done this before. I guess the animal comes out in some!!!

On that note, HAVE a GREAT & WONDERFUL DAY.........................don't get caught with your pants down! Ha!
