Leadership Meeting

Our church family is growing......and growing in the Lord. This weekend, Friday & Saturday, a group from our church went to Walnut Creek for a leadership meeting. We stayed over night at the Carlisle Inn. Each room had a name. My room was called "All Blessings Flow."

Not everyone started out around 8 a.m. Friday morning, just a handful. We stopped for breakfast at Keim Lumber. Yes, they have a small little restaurant in the store.

From there, those who drove, went their separate ways. I decided to go with Brice & Donna. Donna wanted to go to the flee market. It was your typical stuff......I did find a couple baking pans I really liked & they were cheap. Couldn't pass them up.

I wanted to take a picture of my room before it got messy, but my camera was with Brice & Donna. Believe me, it was a very nice room. These photos were the view from my room.

I loved it because you didn't have that heater on the wall creating noise from the fan running all night long. I don't know how their heating/ac system works, but it was great! And quiet!!!

Once our first session was over, we were able to go to an area where they serve breakfast. There was conversation, card playing, board games, and fun.

Here is Donna after she threw the wrong card.

And can you believe these two..........Cathy & Jenara. This is how they act when they get tired.
Praise God for tiredness.

As we left the restaurant to head home today, you would have thought we had not talked to nor seen anyone during the past day & a half.........It was an enjoyable learning time together..........Now to look inside ourselves for the leading of the Holy Spirit to help encourage and motivate others to find their purpose in life........To hear for themselves what God is calling them to do.

Is the Lord pleased with your relationship with Him and with the relationship you have with others?...........Are your actions speaking that you have joy, peace, love for others? Or is it depression, anger, unforgiveness? ...........Taking ourselves out of the equation, putting God first and then others. How do you believe that would change your life? ..........Do we really listen to others or are we so wrapped up in "ourselves" to even notice what they are saying? ................When you're comfortable, you're not moving forward. God wants us to move forward. Move forward in Him.
Get out of your comfort zone!

Happy Birthday

Just talking to her dad.

Acting goofy!
Having a cookie w/tea.

In a few more minutes it will be April 11th. Alexis will turn 6 years old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEXIS!!!!
I was fortunate enough to see three of my grandchildren being born. That was so, so awesome. The life just growing inside of a mother is amazing in itself, but being able to see that miracle of life that has grown inside come to be a living being, is indescribable.

The second child I was able to see their birth happened to be Alexis's. As the time approached to Tam-e's due date, I went to stay with them. One week later, Tam-e comes into my room jumping up & down saying she was in labor, it was time to go to the hospital. Approximately, twelve hours later, I had the video camera going to capture the arrival of the new baby. (Tam-e, later, would call it "The Baby Movie".)

Alexis, I hope you have a wonderfully delightful birthday, do something fun, and eat a piece of cake for Memaw.
I love you!! oxox

Alea is changing too quickly

I arrived at Bj & Anjie's while they were giving Alea a bath. It was nice to see that both of them were doing it together.
It seems as though I don't get Anjie in the photos. (I'll try better the next time.) She was getting Alea clean clothes to put on.
Alea is all wrapped up in the towel, BJ is holding her over the open oven door to get her warm. How cute is that? When I took these photos Alea was one day shy of being two weeks old.
I was holding her while trying to take these photos. Isn't she just so precious?
She woke up long enough to drink a bottle, but then she decided to cry. Mom's are always best for crying babies. So I gave her back to Anjie. She soon quieted down. (Anjie also had her finger in her mouth for her to suck on.)
She's growing so fast!

What's Your Opinion............Tam-e

This one's for you, Tam-e.
I stopped by Odd Lots to see if they might have a candle that would look good on the new candle holders. I was also hoping for them to be cheaper than Wal-Mart. They were! I wanted a little lighter pink, but this is all they had. I bought the clock too. Thought that might be something different other than a basket. (The basket season is gone.)

Aunt Ruthie & I stopped by Lowes today. I picked up more "paint chips" for the new color of the mantle. What about a little darker blue?

Ok I decided I would take a picture of the paint chip, Bungalow Blue. It's almost the same color as the Lazy Boy. See the chair in the lower lefthand corner of the second picture?
Open for more suggestions....................

The Green is gone. :)

Probably last summer I decided I was going to paint my family room "green". I thought I could get slip covers for my blue furniture. That never happened! Tam-e, Bobby & the kids were coming here for Easter. Tam-e said she would stay until the next day to help me paint the room, if I wanted. Of course, I said yes! (Of course, I love being with my kids. All my kids are great kids!!! Even my grandchildren!!!!!)

She had asked me what color I wanted it to be......I had no idea. If I did, I would have had it painted long before now. She remembered she had a paint swatch in her van that she thought would go good in the room. (She was going to paint her laundry room that color.) Wesley went to the van to get the swatch for her. It looked good with the blue furniture. I said, "Lets go with it!!!"

She & Bobby did the majority of painting as I watched. They did a great job!

I wasn't overly thrilled with the color, Mount Rainier. It looked like it would be for a little boys room.

Now that's all painted and the room is back together, it looks great!
Tam-e said I should paint the mantel.
It's still not done, haven't been to Wal-Mart long enough to look for paint.

Decorations would help too. I'm one of those that it has to say "take me home" before I buy it. (And then there are those times...........you just buy, buy, buy.)

Thank you Tam-e & Bobby for painting my family room!!! It looks GREAT!
(Sorry, I noticed I use "great" a lot. I must really like that word.)
